Two software-defined radio (SDR) platforms from Analog Devices are set to simplify rapid SDR system prototyping and development in defense electronics, RF instrumentation, communications infrastructure, and open-source SDR development projects.

The single-channel AD-FMCOMMS4-EBZ comprises the AD9364 RF transceiver IC in a 1-by-1 SDR rapid prototyping FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) module, while the dual-channel AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ is built around the AD9361 RF transceiver on a 2-by-2 SDR rapid prototyping module. The dual-channel module is designed specifically for 50-MHz to 6-GHz wideband tuning applications such as handheld and whitespace radios.

Both FMC modules include all the hardware description language (HDL) code and device drivers required to get the SDR modules up and running quickly.
