Murata Energy Solutions Americas integrates SkyFoundry analytics into energy IoT platform

March 17, 2016

Carrolton, TX. Murata Energy Solutions Americas Inc., a subsidiary of Murata Electronics North America Inc., has announced the integration of SkyFoundry’s SkySpark analytics package into Murata’s PowerConnect platform. The combination delivers cost-effective, seamless data collection with analytics functionality.

The SkySpark analytics package identifies operational issues and opportunities for savings. Further, it presents graphical and tabular data analysis to inform operators of exceptions and anomalies, including the ability to compare information from different time periods, temperature ranges, and other environmental factors. With its recently released Tariff Engine, SkySpark allows various operating scenarios to be analyzed with costs automatically calculated based on actual energy contract rates. The built-in functions are easily configured by the end-user to deliver a highly proprietary analysis. Further, custom functions, views, and reports can be created using the compact Axon scripting language.

“While the PowerConnect platform has met customers’ needs for automating buildings’ load-management functions and increasing backup power supply system reliability, adding the analytics of the SkySpark software creates a solution unmatched in the energy automation space,” said Tim Cutler, general manager of Murata Energy Solutions Americas. “This combination delivers unsurpassed value to building owners, facility managers, energy managers, and sustainability managers who are leading the pack in terms of energy efficiency and resiliency,” Cutler continued.

“Combining SkySpark with Murata’s PowerConnect platform creates an outstanding tool for the building automation market to analyze the impact and efficiency of the strategies employed by operators,” commented John Petze, president of SkyFoundry.

SkySpark is included as part of Murata’s Automated Load Management product and EPSS Premium product. SkySpark can also be added as a separate item to the EPSS basic solution. The combination allows a single user login and automatically updates information to create a cost-effective data collection and analytics-driven control solution.
