MSP & Cloud Verify Program now issuing SSAE 16 SOC 2 audit reports
Chico, CA (PRNewswire). The MSPAlliance today announced it will now be issuing SSAE (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements) 16 SOC (Service Organization Controls) 2 audit reports for cloud computing and managed services companies. The SSAE 16 SOC 2 reports are part of the MSP & Cloud Verify Program (MSPCV), the oldest certification program for cloud computing and managed services providers. The MSPCV is based on the 10 control objectives of the Unified Certification Standard for Cloud & MSPs.
“The ability to offer our members SSAE 16 SOC 2 reports is important for the ongoing expansion of the MSP & Cloud Verify Program,” said Charles Weaver, CEO of MSPAlliance. “The SSAE 16 SOC 2 audit, utilizing the controls from the Unified Certification Standard, provides our member companies with a far better SOC 2 report than is currently available anywhere in the market.”
Another advantage of using the MSPAlliance’s MSP & Cloud Verify program is having the expertise and domain level knowledge of IT auditors who understand the managed services and cloud computing industry.
“What we heard over and over again from our members was the frustration of audit firms having to learn about their business model on the MSP’s dime,” said Celia Weaver, president of MSPAlliance. “Since we were already auditing our members through the MSP & Cloud Verify Program, it made perfect sense to add the option of obtaining an SSAE 16 SOC 2 report as well.”
The MSPCV program is capable of issuing SSAE 16 SOC 1 audit reports as well, also based on the controls from the Unified Certification Standard.
The MSPCV was the first certification created specifically for the managed services and cloud industry. Every certification comes with a written report with the entire process documented, validated, and signed by a third party accounting firm. The MSPCV has been reviewed by governmental agencies and regulatory bodies across the globe and is used and accepted in five continents around the world.
MSPCV was created, using a wide base of criteria, to certify cloud and Managed IT Solution Providers, thereby ensuring that they have met and exceed well-established standards of excellence and client care. Customers who select a company that has been MSP/Cloud Verified can also rest assured that their provider has met and exceeded the best practices of the IT profession.
MSPAlliance is a global industry association and accrediting body for the cybersecurity, cloud computing, and managed services provider (MSP) industry, established in 2000. Today, MSPAlliance has more than 30,000 cloud computing and manage service provider corporate members across the globe and works in a collaborative effort to assist its members, along with foreign and domestic governments, on creating standards, setting policies, and establishing best practices.
