The OPTIGA Trust M MTR can boost security for IoT devices in smart homes/buildings.

Matter-Certified Security Controller Targets MCUs, SoCs

To boost IoT device security in smart homes/buildings, Infineon Technologies unveiled its OPTIGA Trust M MTR. This Matter-certified security controller integrates into MCU/SoC designs, keeping data safe and providing cryptographic functions.

OPTIGA Trust M MTR features a 16-bit CPU, 10-kB NVM, a built-in crypto accelerator, and an I2C interface. In addition, it provides AES key (256), HMAC (SHA512), TLS v1.2 PRF, and HKDF (SHA512) symmetric cryptography. Also in the mix are ECDH/ECDSA cryptographic algorithms, ECC NIST curves up to P-521, Brainpool r1 curve up to 512, and RSA up to 2048.

With the OPTIGA Trust M MTR, users won’t need to set the product ID to confirm each device is authentic and trustworthy. All devices are injected with a customized DAC before production.
