Chip Provides EMI Filtering/ESD Protection

All the functions necessary to provide EMI filtering and ESD protection to joystick and MIDI controller ports are integrated on PAC GAME-1. Designed specifically for a combined MIDI/game port on a PC, the chip provides EMI filtering of all signals to the MIDI and joystick controllers along with ESD protection of the pins. The circuit employs a select input to choose either the joystick or MIDI function- MIDI enables communication between a computer and a musical instrument. Samples are available.
