The threatening presence of radiated interference at the point where ac power inlets are inserted into panel openings is said to be effectively dealt with with a new inlet equipped with a metal shield that covers the entire connector and panel opening from behind. Designed to be used in place of popular IEC 320 connectors, the GRF ac power inlet also employs flexible steel claws to make multiple contact points on the panel to ensure shield integrity. The inlet also is available with a filter option for protecting against conducted emissions. The filters have ratings of from 0.5A to 15A and carry VDE approval at 250V (0.5A to 6A) and UL/CSA approval at 125V (10A and 15A). They also meet IEC 950 specs and come in Class B versions for low leakage medical applications. The easy-to-install GRF inlet employs a snap-in design that allows for pre-wiring of the unit before assembly.
