A new air filter has been designed with a bending flexibility to fit enclosures unable to use a rigid air filter frame because of enclosure obstructions. The MagnaFlex air filter has a magnetic sealing strip to lock the filter in place, preventing unfiltered airflow from bypassing the air filter. Flexibility of the MagnaFlex air filter is achieved by using a flame retardant, polypropylene frame rated UL 94V-0. This frame material makes it possible for the air filter to follow a contour and bend around obstructions. The filter may be ordered with varying degrees of rigidity. Frame thickness ranges from 0.03" to 0.12". A solvent-resistant, two-part epoxy bonding material is used to securely unite frame and air filter media for added toughness. Cleanable, UL 94 HF-1 rated Quadrafoam filter media is used for filtration. The MagnaFlex air filter meets UL 94 HF-1; UL 900 Class 2, CE; Telcordia GR-63-CORE and NEBS GR-78-CORE; and FMVSS 302.
