The SonaSwitch is a new miniature, low-cost, smart ultrasonic sensor available in two versions: the Mini-S with two switched outputs and the Mini-A with an analog output. A diameter of 1.70", a depth of less than 1", and a weight of only 0.6 oz. make the SonaSwitch Mini S/A the lowest profile, fully self-contained sensor of its kind, the company says. All measurements are temperature compensated, providing greater accuracy over a wide range of operating temperatures.
The two outputs of the Mini-S are npn open-collector switched types that are filtered for three consecutive hits/misses before activation/deactivation. The analog output of the Mini-A is a 0 to 5 Vdc or 0 to 10 Vdc linear output that is filtered according to a mathematical formula.
Other product features include a 6" to 10' range and astable or triggered operation. The sensors operate on 8 to 16 Vdc with a maximum of 30 mA current.
Pricing for the SonaSwitch Mini-S is $51.50 each, while the Mini-A is $56.65.
