Specially engineered for the cable modem market, V585ME07 voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) generates frequencies from 1100 to 2100 MHz within 1 to 20 vdc of control voltage and covers the frequency range with an average tuning sensitivity of 70 MHz/V. Spectral purity is -99 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz from the carrier while drawing 15 mA from a 10 vdc supply. The oscillator offers 5.5, ±2.5 dBm of output power into a 50 ohm load and is designed to operate over the extended commercial temperature range of -40°C to 80°C. It can optimize any cable modem PLL with its 1.1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature while pulling less than 15 MHz with a 14 dB return loss, any phase, and pushing less than 5 MHz/V within a 5% change in supply voltage.
