A new surface-mount solid tantalum chip capacitor, intended for military, avionics, and aerospace applications, features an equivalent series resistance (ESR) that reaches a low of 0.180 Ω at 100 kHz. Qualified to MIL-PRF-55365/13, Vishay Intertechnology’s Sprague CWR26 has a 10- to 100-µF capacitance range over voltage ratings from 15 to 35 V dc. Capacitance tolerance is ±5%, ±10%, and ±20%. In addition, the chip is offered with Weibull-level B, C, and T failure rates. Operating temperature ranges from −55° to +85°C, +125°C with voltage derating. Available in F, G, and H case codes, the conformal-coated CWR26 comes with gold-plate, solder-plated, solder-fused, and hot solder-dipped terminations. Packaging is tape-and-reel per EIA 481.
