NTC Chip Thermistors Offer Temperature Ratings to +150 °C

Oct. 21, 2014
Ametherm introduced four new series of NTC chip thermistors for high-accuracy temperature measurement.

Ametherm introduced four new series of NTC chip thermistors for high-accuracy temperature measurement. Recently acquired from RTI Electronics Inc., the  STC0134-X, STC0138-X, STC0143, and STC0144-X series devices are available in a variety of compact sizes, while providing fast response times and high-temperature operation to +150 °C.

The NTC chip thermistors released today deliver highly repeatable performance for temperature monitoring and compensation in hybrid circuits for ICs in robotic assemblies and military telecom systems. For increased reliability, the devices' electrode surface is available in gold to prevent oxidation.

Providing a high-stability replacement for leaded small-disc thermistors, STC0134-X, STC0138-X, STC0143, and STC0144-X series devices experience minimal drift from their initial electrical values. Available in sizes as small as 0.50 mm by 0.50 mm by 0.43 mm, the components feature resistance at 25 °C from 100 W to 5000 W, tolerance down to ± 5%, and beta from 3,000 K to 3,523 K. The thermistors are suitable for solder reflow assembly or gluing with epoxy.

Offered through Dexter Magnetic Technologies and Sager Electronics, samples and production quantities of the NTC chip thermistors are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks. Pricing for U.S. delivery starts at $0.19 per piece.
