C&K Components has developed a new series of microminiature, side-actuated detect switches with an ultra-low board-mounted profile.

C&K Components has developed a series of microminiature, side-actuated detect switches with an ultra-low board-mounted profile. The HDP Series switches measure just 5.7 mm x 8.35 mm in the "free" position and feature a very low profile height of 1.9mm off the board. With an operating life of 100,000 cycles, these robust switches are ideal for consumer electronics, computers, medical devices, mobile communications, and ATCA/MicroTCA applications.

The HDP Series devices are halogen-free, side-actuated, surface mount detect switches with two color-coded options to distinguish between the right- and left-hand actuation styles. The right-hand version features a black actuator body, and the left-hand version is gray. Contacts are rated for 1 mA / 5 VDC with a contact resistance of less than 500 mW. The switch's total travel distance is 1.3 mm, and the operating temperature range is -20 °C to 70 °C.

HDP Series switches are supplied in 2,500-piece tape-and-reel packaging. Samples are currently available.
