Integrating a controller, amplifier and encoder into a brushless dc servo motor, the SM2315 is competitively priced with many complete stepper motor systems. A motion-control chip handles all processing functions of the servo motor, including the PID loop, the trajectory generator, user program execution, I/O control, and communication control over three channels.
The motor is a member of the company's SmartMotor family and can be programmed to work standalone or part of an RS-232 or RS-485 network. Other features include up to 30 oz.-in. of continuous torque and speeds up to 10,000 rpm. Single unit price for the SM2315 is $499.
