Multiple sensing axes are provided on a single chip by a series of Hall-effect, analog magnetic field sensors. The two-axis Model 2D-VH-10 chips and three-axis Model 3D-H-30 chips are fabricated using photolithography, which ensures that the mutual orthogonality of the sensitive axes is held to better than 0.1°. Primary applications include mapping of magnetic fields from magnets or electric currents and 2D and 3D angular and rotational position sensing in resolvers, SIN/COS detectors, micromotors, tachometers, or joysticks.Nominal control current is from 0.5 to 3 mA, depending on model. Maximum input current and voltage are 1 to 5 mA at 15 vdc. Bandwidth is from dc to 30 kHz with operating temperature range of -10°C to 110°C. The devices also come in chip form. And engineering kits are available.
