A new vibration monitor is shielded by a cast aluminum explosion-proof housing suitable for use in hazardous locations. The VS-XP monitor is designed to minimize the risk of catastrophic equipment damage and expensive shutdowns by detecting both under- and over-vibration conditions that often signal impending failure. The monitor is useful for safeguarding fans, blowers, crushers, compressors, chillers, mixers, large motors, gearboxes, turbines, conveyors, pumps, blenders, reciprocating engines and vibratory conveyors. An adjustable vibration alarm trip-point can be used for machine shutdown or operator warning. The range of vibration velocities covered by the monitor is from 0.10"/sec rms to 26"/sec rms, with an adjustable set-point delay to prevent false trips and selectable over- or under-vibration alarm. The product comes with either an SPDT relay output or an NPN output. Power requirements are 24 Vdc at 30 mA. ELECTRO-SENSORS INC., Minnetonka, MN. (800) 328-6170.
