32-bit MCUs Provide Electric/Hybrid Motor Control
The MB91580 series 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) with embedded resolver interface provide a wide range of peripheral functions for efficient three-phase inverter motor control in electric and hybrid vehicles. Efficient loopback control is achieved via a dedicated 12-bit ADC and resolver-to-digital converter (RDC). An IEEE-754-compliant FPU enables the MCUs to process vector conversion and PID control calculations rapidly using data from the 12-bit A/D converter and RDC. The three members in the series include the MB91F585 with 576 KB Flash and 48 KB RAM, MB91F586 with 832 KB Flash and 64 KB RAM, and MB91F587 with 1,088 KB Flash and 96 KB RAM. Available in 144-pin quad flat packages, sample pricing starts at $25 each. Fujitsu Semiconductor America Inc., Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 866-8608.
