Three of the company’s sockets now meet the stringent criteria for Intel validation. The sockets include the LGA 1366 server CPU socket, LGA 1156 desktop CPU socket, and the rPGA 989/988 notebook PC CPU socket. The LGA 1366 is a server CPU socket designed for Intel’s Nehalem micro-architecture that uses an LGA 1,366-pin packaging and a pitch size of 1.016 mm x 1.016 mm. A desktop CPU socket, the LGA 1156 supports Intel’s Nehalem micro-architecture that uses an LGA 1,156-pin packaging and a pitch size of 0.9144 mm x 0.9144 mm. The rPGA 989/988 is also designed for Intel’s Nehalem micro-architecture that uses a PGA 989 or 988-pin packaging with a pitch size of 1 mm x 1 mm. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL. (800) 786-6539.
