Promising to eliminate the need for board-to-board connectors, the APD direct PCB connector interfaces to a PCB internally, rather than with a standard crimped cable connection. The component is sealed to IP67 and IP69K specifications, providing protection against the effects of dust and temporary immersion, and is available in six-, seven-, 19-, 37-, or 51-way versions. It also comes with a four-way configuration for sensor applications. Other features include machined contacts with a press-in contour and a maximum operating voltage of 48V. Typical pricing for the APD direct PCB connector ranges from $5 to $25 per mated pair. ITT INDUSTRIES, CANNON, Santa Ana, CA. (714) 557-4700.
