A new family of industrial-grade terminal blocks is the first to feature a front connection based on Phoenix Contact’s Push-X technology, facilitating fast and easy wiring for all types of conductors.

Phoenix Contact said the XT 2.5 family includes feed-through and multi-conductor terminal blocks and function versions for using disconnect knives, plug-in fuses, and components. The proprietary Push-X technology is all about high-speed connectivity for solid, stranded, or ferruled conductors and cross-sections. Phoenix Contact touts it as one of the fastest connection technologies on the market. As a result, the new Push-X technology increases the efficiency of control cabinet wiring, which can be done manually or automatically.

The pre-tensioned contact spring in the Push-X technology cuts down on the difficulties of direct wiring, Phoenix Contact said. Lightly tapping the release surface inside the clamping chamber sets off the contact spring. The conductor is then contacted safely and permanently. The force-guided actuator makes sure the connection is secure when the spring is released, and the click sound you hear when that happens confirms it. Pressing the orange button on the unit frees up the connected conductors, similar to Phoenix Contact’s popular Push-in technology. At the same time, the contact spring is pre-tensioned for the next wiring process.

All Push-X terminal blocks are fully compatible with the standard Clipline complete terminal block system.
