Bivar just made their market leading rigid light pipes even more valuable and easy to use with the introduction of the Modular Light Pipe System MLPS-B. This patent-pending new product makes volume light pipe installation more efficient and ensures precision alignment. The nylon bezel with configurable mounting patterns can be used to precisely align multiple light pipes on user interfaces. It incorporates Bivar’s popular rigid front and rear mount panel press-fit light pipe series: PLP1, PLP2, PLP5, PLPC and PLW5.
The alignment bezel enhances light pipe retention while maximizing light transmission. It is a pre-assembled complete system, allowing customers to quickly add the MLPS-B to their design with minimal assembly time.
The MLPS-B Series is available in array configurations from a single station to an 8x12 and everything in between, for a wide range of product uses. The alignment bezel has mounting pads with double-sided adhesive, ensuring stability while delivering optimal light output. Customers can now more tightly place this reduced footprint alignment bezel using Bivar’s online configuration tool, expanding the possible use cases without additional tooling and engineering costs.
How the MLPS-B is Used
The MLPS-B is perfect for use in electronic devices across industries. For example, it can be used to illuminate user interfaces from a tightly grouped set of surface mount LEDs on a PCB (printed circuit board). This product line is also suitable for product version updates and redesigns to existing products.
