ICE Components, Inc. announces a product line expansion with the GT05 Series of Gate Drive transformers for use in off-line switching power supplies. The GT05 is based upon the highly regarded GT03 series, but uses a new innovative header design to increase creepage and simplify assembly. ICE uses a toroid design for both the GT03 Series and the GT05 Series. Key features of each include low leakage inductance, multiple winding configurations, excellent E-T ratings, Hi-Pot ratings up to 3,750 Vac and high creepage distances suitable for most applications.

Much lower than what can be found in E core based designs, low leakage inductance reduces time delay and ringing in the drive signal, which are key in gate drive circuit performance. The GT05 features E-T ratings up to 100 V-uS and a creepage distance of 8.7mm. At just 11mm (l) x 13mm (w) x 6.8mm (h) in size, the GT05’s SMT package is suitable for a wide variety of applications including high density DC/DC, high power AC/DC, medical and industrial.

The GT03 features three creepage distance options each with multiple E-T products and turns ratios. The -A is rated for a 1,500 Vac Hi-Pot and is suitable for working voltage applications. It features E-T products up to 110 V-µSec and six winding configurations. The -B has a creepage distance of 3mm and is Hi-Pot rated at 3,750 Vac. It features an E-T rating up to 69 V-uSec and is available in three winding configurations. The -C has a creepage distance of 8mm and is Hi-Pot rated at 3,750 V-µSec. It features an E-T rating up to 69 V-µSec and is available in three winding configurations.
