The RHC2512 is a two-watt thick film chip resistor which utilizes special materials, design, and processing to achieve low heat rise compared to other high power chip resistors. The RHC2512 has a hot spot temperature of just under 120°C at 2 watts where most 2512 size chip resistors may reach that temperature at only 1 watt of applied power. This extremely low heat rise is outstanding for any power supply or power control application where board temperatures must be kept low. Other applications include robotics, motor controls, audio and HD video, fire safety and surveillance equipment, and test equipment.

Pricing for the RHC2512 varies with resistance value and tolerance and ranges from $0.19 to $0.32 each in full reel quantities.
