Q-Process Aims to Replace Weibull Reliability Assessment for Tantalum Capacitors

July 16, 2013
A new way to manufacture and test tantalum capacitors aims to replace the industry’s previous standard.

Due to widespread improvements in the manufacturing and testing of tantalum capacitors, AVX’s new Q-Process hopes to replace the Weibull Reliability Assessment as the industry standard. The process has already received a provisional patent and is available for small case size medical grade capacitors, slated to be offered for military and aerospace products later this year.
