Automotive Current Sensor Sets Size Benchmark

June 4, 2010
The CS-100-AU measures 2.7 cm2 with a maximum height of 8.5 mm.

Described as the industry smallest 35A current sensor for automotive apps, the CS-100-AU measures 2.7 cm2 with a maximum height of 8.5 mm. The sensor is designed with a toroidal ferrite core that allows working frequencies higher than 200 kHz at operating temperatures from -40ºC to +155ºC. Other features include a turns ratio of 1:100, secondary Inductance greater than 4 mH, primary dc resistance of 0.5 m?, secondary dc resistance of 0.8?, primary-to-secondary capacitance of less than 7 pF, and a primary-to-secondary isolation beyond 3 kVdc.
