Three new PCI multi-channel counter/timer cards have been developed for use in PC-based data acquisition and test and measurement applications, such as for monitoring encoder pulse outputs for motion control, or as frequency/pulse counters. The PCIDCCx-P Series is based on AMD AM9513 counter/timer chips that provides five independent 16-bit up/down counters. The cards come with four, two or one of the ICs to deliver 20-, 10- or 5-channel cards, respectively. The cards can be programmed to count either up or down in binary or BCD. And various internal and external frequency sources and outputs can be chosen as inputs for individual counters with software-selectable active-high and active-low polarities. Frequencies to 7 MHz can be measured. The cards come in PCI and ISA models.
