The S50J rugged field-deployable computing platform integrates extensive configurable I/O to maximize design versatility. The fanless system platform uses application-specific I/O expansion cards to accommodate video compression and frame grabbers, ARINC and 1553 cards, Wi-Fi, CANbus, data storage, or FPGA or GPGPU processing. An EPIC-based embedded board features an Intel Core i7 processor with an Intel QM57 Express chipset. Also incorporated within the platform are 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, up to six USB 2.0 and four SATA ports, and eight independent serial ports. Support is available for Linux and Windows. Operating temperature for the EMC-shielded, IP65-rated S50J ranges from ‒20 to +60°C. Expandable aluminum sidewalls facilitate sizing, and a thermally conductive base plus ribbed top and bottom provide convection and conduction cooling. The system measures 10.5 by 9 by 4.75 in. Applications include signal processing, hyperspectral imaging, tactical command and control, as well as surveillance and reconnaissance.
