Groomed for the high-definition market, the ADV7802 video decoder combines 12-bit 3D NTSC/PAL comb filtering with a 1080p-HD, 150-Msample/s digitizer in a single-chip, enabling designers to reduce trade-offs between image sharpness and Y/C separation. The device lays claim to being the industry’s only true 12-bit-resolution decoder with 4:4:4 sampling throughout the processing pipeline including support for RGB SCART inputs. It also provides an on-chip interface with support for SDR and DDR DRAM. Available in a 176-pin TQFP, price is below $12 each in volume. A 10-bit version, the ADV7800, is also available in a 176-pin TQFP and costs less than $10 each in volume. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
