The MAX3542, a single-conversion silicon tuner for hybrid (analog and digital) applications, employs a single down-conversion step from RF to 36 MHz to deliver artifact-free reception of analog signals and reliable reception of digital signals. The device specifies a typical image rejection of 70 dB while requiring a single external SAW filter. Performing as a replacement for canned tuners, its standard 36-MHz IF is compatible with most digital and analog demodulators.
