A highly integrated video filter, the FMS6403 is selectable for standard definition (SD), progressive scan (PS) or high definition (HD) standards. It offers tri-level sync and a bypass mode that permits passing of 1080p and HDTV signals. The most common function is as an anti-aliasing filter to remove noise prior to a/d conversion in HDTVs, media centers and home theater receivers. It also can serve as a reconstruction filter to remove high-frequency artifacts introduced during d/a conversion in HD/SD set-top boxes and DVD players and recorders. It features true 2:1 Mux inputs for YPbPr or RGB inputs and triple 6th order filters with selectable 30-, 15-, or 8-MHz cutoff frequencies. The IC also has selectable 0 dB and 6 dB (1 Vp-p or 2 Vp-p) 75? cable drivers, ac-coupled inputs with dc restore and bias circuitry, and ac- or dc-coupled outputs. It is supplied in a 20-pin TSSOP that is lead-free per IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B. Price is $1.52 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (408) 822-2314
