4K To Dual-DSI Converter Supports Head-Mounted Displays

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a 4K HDMI to MIPI dual-DSI converter chipset with video format conversion. The TC358870XBG drives up to 4K Ultra HD (3840 by 2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 30 frames per second (fps) with a dual-DSI interface.

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a 4K HDMI to MIPI dual-DSI converter chipset with video format conversion. The TC358870XBG drives up to 4K Ultra HD (3840 by 2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 30 frames per second (fps) with a dual-DSI interface.

The chipset also supports WQXGA (2560 by 1600) at 60 fps and full HD resolutions at 120 fps. Its low latency enhances real-time gaming applications and virtual reality products with high-resolution LCDs.

Furthermore, the TC358870XBG supports conversion of HDMI audio input streams to I2S, TDM, or SLIMbus, allowing use in a wide range of applications. It is supplied in an FBGA80 package (7 by 7 mm with 0.65-mm ball pitch).
