All-Programmable FPGA Mezzanine Carriers Come In AMC Form Factor

April 1, 2014
VadaTech’s latest suite of FPGA mezzanine carriers, based on Xilinx All-Programmable FPGAs, consist of Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) module versions that include Virtex-5, -6, and -7; Artix-7; and Kintex-7 FPGAs, as well as Zynq All-Programmable systems-on-a-chip (SoCs).

The modules come in the single-width size, although the Virtex-7 device also was selected for a 100G processor with an integrated FPGA in the double-module AMC size. The carriers make it possible to plug in any VITA-57-compliant FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) mezzanines. All modules include DDR3 memory. Virtex and Kintex versions have optional local processors to boost reliability and performance, and to eliminate potential single-point-of-failures in the system.
