Claiming a 38% smaller footprint than similar devices on the market, the LH28F320BF 32-Mb boot block flash memory device is based on the companyÕs 0.18 µm flash process technology and comes in a 7 x 7 mm chip scale package (CSP). Targeting portable products, the device includes a page mode function that maintains an initial access time of 80 ns, while the next seven accesses within the same page have an access time of 35 ns. This reportedly eliminates the need for a separate DRAM device to execute code. The device is divided into four separate, 8-Mb banks that can be configured by the user. Other features include a simultaneous read while write function (RWW) and a 128-bit OTP block. Price is $15 each/50. SHARP MICROELECTRONICS OF THE AMERICAS, Camas, WA. (360) 834-8002.
