High density flash memories have been developed using an advanced NAND technology, called UltraNAND, that reportedly provides an added level of reliability to the memory devices, enabling them to address the mass storage market. UltraNAND devices are said to offer error-free operation for greater than 100,000 program/erase cycles, without error correction, while retaining data for a minimum of 10 years. The first product in the new flash memory family is the Am30LV0064, a 64-Mbit device that features 3.0V operation with 5.0V tolerant I/O, fast read and program performance, 100% good blocks, and more. Am30LV0064 memories come in 44/40-pin TSOP-II and 40-ball FBGA packages. Gigabit devices are on the firm's product development roadmap.
