Claiming to provide the highest-capacity ATA flash memory card in the industry, the ATA25 series flash cards provide storage capacities ranging from 32 MB up to 1 GB. The new cards deliver sustained write speeds of up to 3 MB/s, said to be five times faster than other standard ATA products, and consume 25 ma typical in active mode and 0.3 ma in standby mode.
While fully ATA/PCMCIA compatible, the cards will operate in either 3.3- or 5-V systems. Other features include a burst transfer rate of up to 8 MB/s, sustained write speeds of up to 3 MB/s, an internal self-diagnostic program, and three variations of mode access. The cards are also available in a ruggedized version. Pricing for a 1-GB card is $2300 in lots of 100.
