Said to lead the industry in terms of density and low power, the MC8051M36 symmetric pipelined burst SRAM squeezes 36 Mb of memory into a 100-pin LQFP. The chip is designed for operation on 1.8V memory core power and either 1.8V or 2.5V I/O power. And with an operating speed up to 200 MHz, the device provides a less than 3 ns clock-to-data-access time. In addition, the MC8051M36 SRAMÕs symmetric read and write pipeline timing is said to be optimized for 100% bus utilization. The memory device is currently sampling, with production quantities becoming available this month. Price is $100.10 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
