Conforming to Secure Digital (SD) 2.0 specifications, Apacer’s family of Micro SD/ Micro SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory cards provide single-level cell (SLC) and (multi-level cell) MLC chip options. SLC chips have capacities ranging from 256 Mbytes to 4 Gbytes to satisfy the small-capacity, high-stability system disk demands of industrial devices. The more-economical MLC chips offer capacities from 4 to 32 Gbytes, meeting high-capacity storage needs. The cards support error-correcting code (ECC), debugging functionality, and SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology). They can sustain long-term overwriting operation of monitoring systems while guaranteeing data integrity, according to the company. Operating temperature ranges from ‒40 to +85°C. The family of cards will find homes in mobile and wearable devices, particularly in the medical and health industry in terms of all-day home care. Their industrial design, however, will also apply to embedded devices for military use, communication, and surveillance, as well as vehicle-mounted devices.
