The OKAMI OKX series of non-isolated single-output dc-dc converters from Murata Power Solutions offers four models that provide 3- or 5-A outputs with either 5- or 12-V nominal inputs. The OKX-T/3 and OKX-T/5, designed for embedded point-of-load (PoL) applications, come in 22.9- by 10.2- by 7.1-mm, 5-pin single-inline packages (SIPs) that meet Distributed-Power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA) specifications. Featuring 94.5% efficiency at 3.3 V[SUBSCRIPT OUT], the converters can drive ceramic capacitive loads up to 1000 µF. Output voltage is programmable from 0.75 to 3.63 V dc for the 5-VIN device, and up to 5 V dc for the 12-VIN version. The converters integrate undervoltage-lockout, output short-circuit, output-overcurrent, and overtemperature protection. Tight load regulation suits them for powering applications such as FPGAs and DSPs. Other applications include CPUs, datacom/telecom systems, industrial systems, and programmable-logic and mixed-voltage designs.
