Both the HV7801 and HV7802 high-side current monitors operate with a wide input-voltage range from 8V to 450V. They also specify rise and fall times of 700 ns and quiescent currents of 50 µA. Target markets include motor controls, off-line sensors, instrumentation amplifiers, and current sensing for high-voltage LED drivers, batteries, and switched- mode power supplies. The HV7801 features a fixed gain of five, while the HV7802 allows users to program the voltage or transconductance gain. The HV7801 is available in a 5-lead SOT23 package (HV7801K1-G), and the HV7802 is available in an 8-lead MSOP (HV7802MG-G). Both devices are RoHS compliant. Prices are $0.56 and $0.62 each/1,000, respectively. SUPERTEX INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 222-8888.
