Helping manufacturers to deliver cost-effective IP phones for low-end enterprise, small and medium business, and residential markets, the TNETV2502 device provides a turnkey system for developing phones with up to a 50% reduction in the BOM. The chip integrates the company's TMS320C55x DSP generation and a software license from Adaptive Digital Technologies for the IP phone software package. The platform includes the silicon, software, and a complete reference design. The software features run on the company's DSP/BIOS operating system, reducing the amount of royalties that may be necessary. The TNETV2502 reference design is also said to be the first to include power-over-Ethernet technology. General availability of the TNETV2502 is expected in the third quarter.
