An efficient means of performing real-time DSP programming--without users having to write any code at all--is afforded by version 4.2 of the RIDE component-based DSP design system. The tool is a suitable platform for DSP algorithm development, control applications, data acquisition, real-time instrumentation, system modeling and simulation and other numeric-intensive uses.Included is support for a variety of DSP chip families from several vendors. Version 4.2 is said to yield extended functionality and to introduce fast Native block component support for increased algorithm performance. The tool enables real-time DSP implementations to be built up quickly on many DSP platforms, including SHARC, C3x, C4x, C62x, C67x and F24x.
