Premiering as the first single positive supply analog switches with negative-signal handling capabilities, the MAX49xx family of dual SPST and single SPDT devices predict lower external component counts and improved audio signal quality. The MAX4902, MAX4904, MAX4905 integrate shunt switches to ground that reduce audio popping and clicking by depleting capacitive charges. They specify 0.6Ω on-resistance, 0.25Ω on-resistance flatness, and a THD of 0.04%. The MAX4905 includes a comparator for mute and headphone-detection functionality. The entire family specifies an operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C and are available in 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm, 9-bump UCSP and 3 mm x 3 mm, 8-pin TDFN packages. Prices start at $1 each/1,000.
