Running at 350 MHz, the TMS320C6727B DSP emerges as the company's highest performing floating-point DSP to date. The device is based on the TMS320C67x+ DSP generation core, a C-efficient, VLIW architecture that offers significant application performance improvements. The C6727B DSP is also available at speeds of 275 MHz and 300 MHz, allowing users to migrate to 350 MHz without changing hardware. Other features include a 32-bit external memory interface that provides an SDRAM speed of 133 MHz and a dMAX DMA engine that performs complex 1D, 2D, and 3D memory transfers. Sample prices for the C6727B DSP are $16.75 (275 MHz), $19.95 (300 MHz), and $25.95 (350 MHz). TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
