What you'll learn:
- How good are you at identifying programming languages?
- Some programming languages you may not know about.
No one programming language rules them all. There are literally hundreds to consider. Some have died on the vine while others have dominated different areas. C tends to be the default go-to language (remember, go-to's are bad for you) for embedded platforms, although developers are migrating to C++.
This is the first Do You Recognize These for programming languages. Prior articles focused on hardware. Lots of programming languages are out there, so we'll have a few more of these challenges in the future.
Often programming languages target a particular application space and are tailored to those chores. Different languages bring ideas from object-oriented programming to functional programming. Some have built-in garbage collection. The syntax and operations tend to make languages easy to identify if you have used them in the past.
This series tests your programming language knowledge. Here, we present a few language examples for you to identify. You might even find something new that's worth investigating. Even if you don't use a new programming language, you might gain some insights that will be useful in your daily work. Leave a comment if you have worked with one of the languages in this mix, or suggest ones others should examine.
