Loud Board-Mountable Audio Device Also Houses Drive Circuitry

June 1, 1999

With its ability to generate clear, continuous signals of 2800 Hz ±500 Hz, the Sonalert II MAS800 audible signal piezo indicator is said to offer the highest sound pressure level (SPL) available today from a device measuring only 26 mm in diameter and 22 mm high. The pcb-mountable device's SPL is rated at 103 dB ±5 dB at 12 vdc and at a distance of two feet. In addition to its ability to produce loud sounds in a compact package, the new audible signal device also comes with built-in drive circuitry, draws only 50 mA (max.) at 9 to 12 vdc, and can operate over a -20°C to 65°C temperature range.
