The LTM08C351 has been introduced as the industry's first 8.4'' , 800 x 600, low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS), thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD). It is claimed that LTPS technology is responsible for the display's superior resolution and image quality. The display features an 800 x 600 SVGA resolution format with 119 ppi resolution density.
The on-board backlight uses long-life, replaceable bulbs for easy field servicing and extended product life. Film compensation technology is employed to provide for wide angle viewing. The displays are available now and cost $900 each.
