The two latest Smart Force LED driver boards debut as standard products for a range of industrial LCD designs. Both provide full-function LED drivers with wide dimming ranges and input voltages plus full brightness and enable control. Also available, Smart Force LED rails employ a proprietary design to provide thermal management. The SFDL driver board consumes a maximum current of 180 mA and measures 27.9 mm x 99.8 mm and less than 8-mm high. It specifies an on-board PWM dimming ratio of 1,000:1 and external PWM dimming to 5,000:1. Consuming 1A maximum, the SFDC board provides an onboard PWM dimming ratio of 1,000:1 and external PWM dimming to a ratio of 20,000:1. It measures 27.9 mm x 142.5 mm and less than 12-mm high. Pricing for an SFDL series board for backlighting, for example, an NEC NL 10276BC13-01C 6.5" TFT LCD is less than $20 each in production quantities. ENDICOTT RESEARCH GROUP INC., Endicott, NY.
