Capable of carrying light from LEDs to front panels, displays, switches, or other locations up to 800 feet away, the LPI-C011701S series of Remotely-LitLED panel indicators lets designers place the light source according to the dictates of the circuit board layout, with the light itself appearing in the location best suiting the end-product's ergonomics. Made of UL 94V-O clear polycarbonate, one end of the panel indicator includes a 7 mm round lens available in a wide range of colors. The other end of the passive light guide fits over an LED and snaps into the pc board. In the middle, a flexible light transporter accommodates virtually any bend or curve, so the plane of the front panel can be at any angle or offset relative to the plane of the circuit board containing the LED. Pricing starts at $1.80 each/1,000. LUMEX INC., Palatine, IL. (800) 278-5666.
