The USB-6501 is a full-speed, USB 2.0-based device with 24 digital I/O lines and a 32-bit counter. The module can be used to interface with LEDs, switches, relays, and other digital I/O devices. Each digital signal is protected against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions. Removable screw terminals eliminate the need for additional connectivity accessories. For easier connectivity in embedded OEM applications, the device is available in a "board-only" version that employs a 36-pin ribbon cable instead of the screw terminals. The USB-6501 comes with NI-DAQmx Base driver software, a multiplatform open-source driver for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux that includes the NI-DAQmx programming interface. With the driver software, users can quickly develop customized data-acquisition applications using the NI LabVIEW graphical programming environment or C-based development environments. Prices for the USB-6501 start at $95.
