The SBC4670 single board computer combines the low-power PX270 ARM processor, running at up to 520 MHz, with multiple on-board communication formats. In addition, an onboard 10/100BaseT Ethernet controller can be outfitted with a Power-over-Ethernet option that will supply the board with 15 W, eliminating the need for an external supply. Other options include a Socket Modem capable of GSM/GPRS, CMDA, or Bluetooth; on-board GPS; and a CAN bus interface. Fitting in the 4.5" x 6.5" EPIC footprint, the board’s multimedia capabilities include support for an 800 x 600 color flat panel display, audio output, and debounced keypad input, making it a good choice for sophisticated point-of-sale terminals, kiosks, or graphical industrial control panels. Industrial control and monitoring applications are served by eight channels of 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion with simultaneous reads, eight channels of 14-bit digital-to-analog conversion, and 24 channels of digital I/O. The board includes five serial ports, four of which have RS232 transceivers, while the other is configured for RS485. The SBC4670 is rated for –40°C to +85°C operation. The board incorporates 128 MB of SDRAM and a 64-MB flash array. The on-board flash can boot Linux, Windows CE, and VxWorks. The basic SBC4670 starts at $595 in single quantity.
