Eighteen solid-state relays (SSRs) have been developed for use in industrial interface applications, such as controlling motors, lamps and medical equipment. The UL-approved devices belong to one of four new SSR families. The ultra-mini (0.83'' x 1.4'' x 0.9''), chassis-mount Series FS relays offer output current ratings at line voltage to 280 Vac and are available with faston or pc-board terminals and random or zero-cross switching. The 1.7'' x 1.4'' x 0.87'', 1.06-oz. single-inline-packaged (SIP) Series HS relays can handle 10A with voltages to 600 Vac (max.). The 1.7'' x 1.0'' x 0.39'' SIP Series AS SSRs offer zero-cross or random switching and can withstand very high current overloads. And the 2- or 3-pole Series MX relays are rated at 4A to 240 Vac and offer integrated input status and output protection. Price ranges from $15.62 to $28 each/500.
